Partial Hospitalization Program

Teenage friends spending time togetherPalmetto Summerville Behavioral Health offers a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for children and adolescents, ages 7 to 17. This program can be the solution for your child or teen who needs to address their mental health needs.

Our PHP is offered Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., for a total of 30 treatment hours per week. Patients are thoroughly evaluated by a psychiatrist and a customized treatment plan is established to promote emotional development. Our therapeutic treatment can change unhealthy behaviors and give our patients the best chance for a successful future.

PHP is comprised of:

  • Group therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Medication management
  • Psychiatric evaluations
  • Educational support
  • Recreational therapy
  • Social skills instruction

PHP can be beneficial for children or teens suffering from:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Emotional disturbance
  • Self-injurious behaviors
  • Impulsive behaviors
  • Trauma recovery
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Significant mental illness
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
  • Oppositional defiant disorder
