Message from Our Team
Hello Friends and Families,
Welcome to the Palmetto Summerville Behavioral Health website. It is my honor to share information and content about our programs and services, while also providing you additional resources. I hope this further assists you in your decision when considering psychiatric care for yourself or loved ones.
It is our goal to provide superior quality healthcare services for every individual we serve. Our treatment opportunities include inpatient programs that are continuously growing and improving to meet the needs of the community. I am excited to let you know who we are, and hope we have the opportunity to assist you.
Palmetto Summerville Behavioral Health is a psychiatric residential treatment facility for boys and girls, ages 7 through high school. We have been around for over 30 years and provide a structured, therapeutic environment for our children and adolescents. Our services embrace the treatment of psychiatric, behavior/conduct disorder, anxiety, depression, and trauma. It is our goal to help our children and adolescents improve their lives for a brighter future.
Our Therapists all hold a Master’s Degree as Licensed Professional Counselors or in Social Work; collectively they specialize in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and are Trauma-Focused Educated. Our Medical Director, Steven Lopez, MD, Psychiatrist, focuses on mental health treatment for our children and adolescents.
Palmetto Summerville Behavioral Health has received Joint Commission Accreditation and is a Tricare certified network provider. We provide mental health treatment that is funded by private insurances and Medicaid organizations within South Carolina.
Our school on campus has an agreement with Dorchester II School System, who has a license for South Carolina. All school credits are approved and forwarded back to schools where children and teens are students.
Palmetto Summerville Behavioral Health has proven success according to our patient satisfaction surveys. Over 90% of our patients say they are satisfied with their physician and feel better than they did when they were admitted to our facility.
If you have any questions, concerns, or would like to discuss a possible admission, please call our Facility at 843-851-5015. Our Admissions staff would be pleased to assist you.
On behalf of the entire staff of Palmetto Summerville Behavioral Health, thank you for your consideration. We look forward to serving you – and your children and adolescents.
